I was browsing for portable grills on Amazon and came across the "Aussie Adventure" grill, which seemed kind of neat. The weird part was that after the description, it also suggested buy a steering wheel Wii accessory. Huh? Amazon seems to think that they are often purchased together.

Is anyone else sick of hearing bigoted assholes professing how they are not bigot-racists after they use words like "faggot" in press conferences or refer to black professors as "banana eating jungle monkeys." I can't believe the public buys their apology or that they even bother to apologize. If you are a racist bigot, just own up to it and live your backwoods-Alabama-trailer-trash-armadillo-eating-sister-marrying life away from me. Gays and non-caucasian ethnicities want to be around you about as much as you want to be around them. Stop telling me you have the greatest respect for minorities and that you have gay or black friends. Just shut up, PLEASE!!! |

| | happy | ] | I know I rarely post on here but figured I would put together a quick lump life update:
The Home: Things are good at the house; the flowers are blooming, the fish is still swimming etc. Unfortunately we still have an issue with the upstairs neighbor. You would be surprised how noisy a 2 bedroom apartment housing 6 people can be, especially when one of them is a 3 year old with ADHD who has a jumping fetish. She just runs and jumps constantly. We have complained multiple times to the apt complex and the family directly. No one cares and we continue to slip into insanity. Then again, what parenting skills can you expect from a woman who commands 2 parking spots everytime. Even when she parks on the end spot, she leaves 5 ft between the side curb and the car. What is wrong with these people?! One of our neighbor friends moved to Inman park last week after getting fed up with the complex- she has had a problem with constantly-partying migrant worker neighbors that the complex promised would be gone months ago. Is it so wrong to want to live in peace?
The Trips: I am sure everyone has noticed that we have been gone a lot. Seems like when I am not working the weekend, we are traveling. NYC was fun for Pride. The parade was long so we only saw a portion of it. We had some minor celeb run-ins. Alison Janey was fun to watch in '9 to 5' and Rich managed to fall on Kathy Kinney (Mimi from the Drew Carey Show) while going through security in Newark. We just got back from Las Vegas last night-- let me tell you, 115 degrees is HOT HOT HOT! I didn't win anything in the end but stayed under budget so I think that counts! We are already discussing the next trip out there. We got to sit front row for Charo's week-old show. She seemed genuinely nice and ran around the small audience-- Rich even got a faceful of Charo boobs. During the show, she turned to us and asked me if I had a camera with me b/c she wanted to take a picture with us later. Unfortunately we never got to see her after. We were stood up by Charo!
The Job: Most of you probably know I spent 2 years working as an ER nurse while finishing grad school. Well, I have been away from it for 2 years while working as a practitioner at the walk-in clinic and I am bored out of my mind. As of last week I have completed orientation for my second job at Emory University Hospital in the ER again. It is a PRN position (as-needed) so I can just pick up shifts when I want. It looks like there will be more than enough hours to work full-time and then some if I choose. So we'll see where this new opportunity takes me. See everyone soon! |

I am kind of excited about Tm Burton remaking Alice in Wonderland with Disney. I just found out. It is due out March 2010 and the msnbc.com website had a preview of the characters. They look typically over-the-top Burton-style. Definitely worth a trip to the theater for this one. (and Johnny Depp... can anyone play crazy better?)

Hey guys. I feel invisible on here sometimes so I'll give y'all a quick life update.... Nothing has changed. :-) So Rich and I were supposed to be going on a cruise from New Orleans next Monday through Saturday to Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico-- this is no longer happening. As of 11PM tonight, our 5-day cruise has been changed to a 7-day cruise and leaves 2 days earlier on Saturday. The new itinerary now includes Key West, Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas. It may have been serendipity, but we had already planned to be in New Orleans on Saturday just to tool around and visit. Our flight will even be landing in plenty of time to make the new sailing. We are out $123 for 2-nights hotel in the city but we are hoping Carnival will give us at least a ship credit in that amount or more-- lord knows the 2 of us can drink at least that much in alcohol over 7 days! We'll see what happens-- cross your fingers.... |

| | satisfied | ] | Rich met me at Cameli's pizza in front of scary Kroger on Ponce for lunch today. The food was very good, fresh, hot, and inexpensive. My favorite part was the trannie hooker cozying up with his/her John in the corner. They looked like sickening newlyweds all over each other. I was waiting for him/her to finish their business right there in the booth and collect his/her fee! But good food... I'll be back. |

| Discover Mills-- the most unnecessary mall ever. |

| | amused | ] | I am working up in Lawrenceville today, just behind Discover Mills. Since I now have hour-long lunch breaks at work, I decided to go exploring. Here are my top 3 most unnecessary stores:
#3 Any one of the THREE perfume outlet stores. #2 Any of the FIVE photo/poster/art reproduction stores. Two of them were solely African-themed. One of them had an Obama t-shirt displayed with the slogan "It was all worth it." It struck me as a little disturbing. #1 Egyptian dress outlet. This was basically Ross for Egyptian dresses that just couldn't make it on the mainstream Egyptian dress retail market in metro Atlanta. Can I get a "Holla!" from all of my Egyptian bargain hunters?!
Runners-up: The 18-hole indoor black-lit putt putt course. Dress Barn Woman-- for the hefty ladies who still have enough dignity to purchase clothing from a BARN.
What more could one expect from a mall whose primary anchor is the Bass Pro Shop?
*Note* Spell check still thinks "Obama" is a misspelled word... interesting |

WTF woman? This is not quite as scary as the 115 yo woman I saw on 285 trying to drive while squinting, leaning forward, AND on a cell. I think there should be a law that limits you to using 1 technological development younger than you at once. |

| | Downtempo house | ] | So I had a rough start to the day-- My friend Alicia stayed with us the past 2 night but needed to get to her truck this morning before I drove to work. Since I am in Covington today, I had to wake up extra early. I went to my car and my battery was dead. Rich told me last night my lights were on but I didn't think much about it since they always went off automatically-- well not this time. I had to drag Rich out of bed to give me a jump. After dropping Alicia off, I was, of course, late to work. So after waking up extra early to a dead battery and being late to work, all of the telephones and internet were down because of the storms that came through here last night. I think the daily drama is over but I am ready to crawl back into bed... |
